Reviews
In so many series the second book is a huge let-down. Siege and Storm? An exception. It is a squillion times better than Shadow and Bone... I adore the writing - it's so lyrical, so beautiful, yet so modern and witty and funny. I love this blend of classic fairytale and modern day. And it always seems to leave me wanting more! And the plot was amazing too. It was just nonstop action, nonstop thrills, nonstop suspense and nonstop excitement. I gobbled it up, falling harder in love each time. And then having my heart totally broken. Numerous times... I didn't see ninety-nine percent of the twists coming and could have just read this three-hundred-odd-paged-book in one sitting! You know, if I didn't need sleep and food and stuff... -- The Book Addicted Girl * GUARDIAN TEEN BOOKS * Wow, wow, wow - that's all I can say. Siege and Storm only confirms that Leigh Bardugo is a must-read author for all teenage bookworms and fantasy fans! Set in a beautiful and magical fictional land, the novel draws you in with its vivid imagery and unique array of characters... If you haven't entered the world of Grisha yet, then why on earth not?! I mean, you know a novel is superb when words fail you and you just can't coherently speak anymore... right? * FEED ME BOOKS NOW * Leigh Bardugo, you sure know how to involve your readers and make them an emotional wreck. Siege and Storm is an enthralling sequel that seriously ups the game and expectations of the reader. It is written so beautifully that is flows flawlessly while keeping the magic alive in the readers mind. If you want to read a fantasy series that has a truly unique world then read this series. * READ WRITE AND READ SOME MORE * I wrote a piece here gushing about why the Grisha series is so different and so special. There are many small reasons that all come together to create the awesomeness. But there are also many more that I can't even explain. Maybe it is different because it is just magic. It has the most exquisitely constructed world, the best-written characters, the most amazing writing and storyline. And it always always always leaves me desperate for more. It always leaves me aching, foaming at the mouth, for more: right now. And that, perhaps, is why it is so special. It is magic. It is beautiful. It is perfect. Well, except for that cliffhanger. How am I meant to make it a whole year with that hanging over my head?! * THE BOOK ADDICTED GIRL * I was away on the ships and wandering through Ravka with Alina and Mal, I was on the receiving end of his kisses and his annoyances. I felt the sun warm the pages whenever Alina summoned and I felt the fear when The Darkling was around. There is nothing I don't love about the world in which the Grisha trilogy is set and I cannot wait until next year to see how this series is going to conclude. * READARAPTOR * Siege and Storm carries on the fantastic plot which was so intricately carved in book one, and the writing continues to be clever, funny and heartbreaking all at the same time. This book will have you laughing one minute and an emotional wreck the next, as Alina's powers are pushed to the limit and her relationships are tested to breaking point. I for one cannot wait for the third and final book. * BOOK CHICK CITY *

Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #2) by Leigh Bardugo | Goodreads.

Do you have to read Shadow and Bone before Siege and Storm? ›

James Mehraa I would recommend you first read The Shadow and Bone Trilogy first as it would help you to understand where are the all the things located. World building is at it's best in Shadow and Bone trilogy. These 2 series story line are different so it would make much difference but still they the trilogy first.

Kaz also suffers from haphephobia, the fear of being touched or touching others. This developed from his traumatic experiences as a child, when he was thought to be dead and dumped with hundreds of dead plague victims.

Is Wylan dyslexic? ›

While it's never explicitly stated, it is pretty clear that Wylan is dyslexic and Jesper has some form of ADHD.

What age is Ruin and Rising for? ›

The violence is mild and ok for teens 15+. Overall an amazing book! This title has: Educational value.

Is there romance in Siege and Storm? ›

But their relationship really starts to crumble in Siege and Storm and of course there's a love triangle to sort out too… This was the single biggest thing that pulled the book down for me.

Is Siege and Storm a good book? ›

great read for holidays

Seige and storm is a really good book, it really pulls the whole story together more and creates an intriguing plot twist towards the end of this novel, but still doesn't quite wrap up the series.

What happened to Kaz and Inej? ›

Kaz And Inej Part On More Amicable Terms In The Six Of Crows Books. Kaz and Inej's story concludes with a sense of realism rather than romance or tragedy. Kaz's emotional scars make intimacy a challenge, and in truth, Inej is the one who's come closest to breaking through.

How old is Kaz in Shadow and Bone? ›

Kaz Brekker/Rietveld, also known as Dirtyhands, is a 17-year-old master thief with a reputation for doing anything for the right price. He has a personal vendetta against Pekka Rollins, who swindled Kaz and his older brother Jordie out of all their money when they first arrived in Ketterdam.

Why was Shadow and Bone cancelled? ›

As reported by Deadline, Shadow and Bone's second season didn't quite reach the viewing heights of its first season, which likely contributed to Netflix's decision to cancel it. There are also no plans to move forward with the series' spinoff, Six of Crows, even though scripts for the new show were already written.

Who are the disabled characters in Six of Crows? ›

Kaz is disabled, and his disability is explored through his characterization, but it doesn't dominate it. His disability isn't a prop for another character's narrative arc, in later books he (SPOILER!) explicitly rejects a magical cure, and much of his plot wouldn't change even if he were able-bodied.

Does Wylan have autism? ›

Wylan just is autistic, just as he is dyslexic. He canonically has all of the traits of both. Just because the terms aren't used in canon, it doesn't mean the disabilities aren't there for disabled fans to relate to.

Does Kaz Brekker actually have a limp? ›

As fans of both Leigh Bardugo's book series and the Netflix adaptation know, Kaz also happens to walk with a limp and use a cane—a detail that, refreshingly, informs Kaz's characterization without defining him. Kaz lives in a fictional universe teeming with healers, but he never considers “fixing” his mobility issues.

Why couldn't Wylan read? ›

Wylan also has a curious, contemplative mind, often questioning how things function such as on Jesper's pistols and the Ice Court's aqueduct system. He prefers music and numbers to words, as he cannot read or write because of his dyslexia.
